The word “tag” shows up in two places in Kampp and means different things. It’s worth knowing the difference before you count on it.

Workout tags

They’re for categorizing your workouts.
1

Open the workout

In the builder, look for the Workout tags field.
2

Pick one or create one

Search for an existing tag or type a new name and click Create ”…”. It’s created on the spot and already selected.
3

Confirm

Click Confirm.
You have two lists:
  • System tags — the ones that come ready from Kampp, the same for everyone.
  • My tags — the ones you created.
Tags appear on the workout and on its detail screen.
Today workout tags are a visual label: there’s no filter by tag in the library, and no screen to rename, recolor or delete a tag once it’s created. Create them carefully, because the name sticks.

Athlete tags

They’re for grouping people, and they’re used as the audience for the chat broadcast.
You can’t tag an athlete by hand. There’s no such button on their profile or in the athlete list. Athlete tags are only born inside an automation.

How to create an athlete tag

It happens in Kampp Flow, as a step in the automation:
1

Build a flow

Choose the trigger that defines the group (for example: the athlete became at risk).
2

Add the Tag step

On the + button, pick Tag.
3

Choose the action

Add tag or Remove tag, and write the name (for example: At risk).
From then on, every athlete who hits that trigger gets the tag on their own — and the tag starts showing up in the broadcast selector.
That’s why the broadcast’s Tag selector can be empty: if none of your flows tag anyone, there are no athlete tags yet. Build the flow first.
The ready-made Flow templates already do this: one marks At risk when the athlete cools off, and another removes the tag when they start training again. It’s the fastest way to have a group that maintains itself.

The two never cross

Workout tags and athlete tags are separate universes. Even with identical names, one never shows up in place of the other.
