Coach DNA is the heart of Cortex. It’s where you explain how you work — and it’s what separates a suggestion that’s yours from one pulled off the internet. Until Coach DNA is active, Cortex generates nothing.

Where to find it

Menu Cortex → My Coach DNA tab. In the corner of the first card you see the current state: ACTIVE (green) or DRAFT (amber), along with the version number. The version goes up every time you change something real.

The five fields

1

Your methodology

The most important field. Explain how you prescribe, what you prioritize and what Cortex should avoid.E.g.: I start with an adaptation phase, I prioritize gradual progression, I avoid advanced techniques for beginners…It needs at least 200 characters before you can activate. Kampp shows how many are missing.
2

Workout guidelines

Your preferred split, volume, intensity, how you progress, rest times.
3

Diet guidelines

Your nutrition strategy, how you distribute macros, how much flexibility you allow.
4

Rules and things to avoid

One rule per line. These are your red lines.E.g.: Don’t take beginners to muscular failure / Don’t suggest ultra-processed foods
5

Communication tone

How you talk to the athlete. E.g.: direct, instructive and warm.
The more explicit your rules, the closer the suggestion lands to the way you work. Write it as if you were explaining it to an intern who’s going to prescribe in your place — because that’s exactly what’s happening.

Dictate instead of typing

Each of the five fields has a microphone button next to it. Click Start dictation and talk: the text appears in the field, adding to whatever was already written. Click again (Stop dictation) to finish.
  • You can dictate one field at a time.
  • While it records, a red dot shows up with Listening….
  • If the button is disabled with the Dictation unavailable in this browser notice, use another browser or type it out normally.
  • The first time, the browser asks for microphone permission. If you deny it by mistake, allow it in the site permissions.
Talking usually gets you further than writing. A lot of people freeze at the blank page and loosen up the moment they explain it out loud.

Choose what you prescribe

In the What do you prescribe? card, switch on Workouts, Diets or both. Cortex only suggests what’s switched on here.
If you don’t switch on at least one of the two, Kampp warns you: Enable workout, diet or both.

Diet targets: the ranges you accept

The Diet targets card isn’t text — it’s numbers. You set the range (a “From” and a “To”) and Cortex picks where to land inside it, following your methodology. Kampp calculates the athlete’s expenditure and adjusts the portions to hit it exactly. The last row holds the safety floors: minimum calories for women and for men and the water reference per kilo. Kampp ships with values already filled in — only touch them if your method calls for something else.
Tight ranges make the suggestion more predictable; wide ranges give it more room to adapt to the athlete. Start from the default values and adjust as you review your first suggestions.

Save and activate

Two buttons, top right:
  • Save draft — keeps what you wrote without putting it into use.
  • Activate Coach DNA — puts it into use. If it’s already active, the button becomes Save active version.
If your Coach DNA goes offline (say, you switched off both workout and diet), the intake forms with the suggestion enabled pause: the answers sit waiting and the suggestion is only generated once Coach DNA is active again.

After you activate

Head to Turn the suggestion on for an intake form. That’s where you choose which questionnaires Cortex gets to work on.
