Lab work isn’t a questionnaire — it’s a request. You write down what you’re asking for, your athlete gets the tests done and sends the results back through the app. Everything stays on their profile, alongside the rest of the coaching history.
That’s why a lab request has no question builder. There’s nothing to ask: there’s something to request.

Building the request

1

Open Forms → Lab work

The tab sits next to Intakes and Feedback.
2

Click New request

Give it a name — it’s what your athlete sees in the notification and in their list. E.g. “Semi-annual hormone panel”.
3

Write the tests, one per line

You can paste a list you already have. Each line becomes a numbered item on your athlete’s screen, so they can check them off one by one at the lab.
4

Attach the lab form, if you have one

Optional. Accepts PDF, images and Word documents (DOC/DOCX), up to 20 MB.
5

Add instructions

Also optional: fasting, collection time, insurance, deadline.
You can request by writing the list only, by attaching the form only, or both. What you can’t do is leave both empty — that would be a request that asks for nothing.

Sending it to an athlete

Same as the other forms: on the athlete’s profile, Assessments tab → Lab work sub-tab → Request lab work. And the same three ways to send:
Repetition is what handles routine follow-up: a panel every 6 months gets scheduled once and you never have to remember it again. It stops on its own when the athlete leaves.
The Upcoming sends block shows what’s still scheduled, with Edit and Cancel — just like intakes. See sending a form for the detail on each option.

Lab work doesn’t compete with the others

This is the difference that matters, and it’s worth knowing so it doesn’t surprise you later. When an intake and a feedback fall in the same month, the feedback yields — they ask about the same things, at different depths. That doesn’t happen with lab work. Asking for blood tests doesn’t compete with asking how the month went, so an intake and a lab request in the same month both go out.
Lab work also never locks workouts, not even when you schedule it. Only the intake locks, and only when it comes from a rule.

What your athlete sees

1

The notification

It arrives as “New lab work requested”, with the name you gave it.
2

The request

The numbered list, your instructions and a button to open the lab form.
3

Sending the results

They attach by taking a photo on the spot, picking one from their gallery, or grabbing the PDF the lab emailed them. They can send more than one file and add a note.
They can deal with it later. Until they send it back, a marker stays on their home screen — tapping it reopens the request right away.
A request only leaves “waiting” with a file attached. An accidental tap won’t mark it as delivered: if it did, the request would disappear from their list and you’d be waiting for results their profile already shows as received.

Seeing the results

On the athlete’s Lab work sub-tab, the send shows up as “Results received on [date]”. Click to open it. The file shows up on screen, with nothing to download: a photo of the results is displayed in full, and a PDF opens inside the window itself. “Open in a new tab” takes you to the full file, to zoom in or print.
Results also show up under Forms → Answers, switching to the Lab work tab — handy when you want to see everything that came in across your whole roster, rather than one athlete at a time.

Accepted formats

Both go up to 20 MB per file.
The lab form accepts Word because plenty of them are typed up in Word. Results don’t: labs don’t issue Word documents, and anything arriving that way would be harder for you to open on your phone.
